Annick got in touch with us because her house in Sydenham needed better airflow during the warmer months. The home had original ceiling roses with pendant lights throughout, and she wanted to add ceiling fans without losing the lighting or taking away from the character of the house.

We replaced the existing pendant lights with ceiling fans with integrated lights. This gave Annick the benefit of improved airflow while still providing the main lighting for each room.

Ceiling fans need stronger support than standard pendant lights. After removing the existing fittings, we accessed the roof space and installed J-hooks securely through the timber above each ceiling rose. This gave every fan a solid mounting point while allowing the original ceiling features to remain in place.

At the rear of the house, there was a flat-roof section without an existing fan. We created a new fan location and installed another ceiling fan with a light, bringing better airflow and lighting into this part of the home.

Once everything was installed, we tested each fan, light and speed setting. Annick’s home now feels more comfortable, while the new fans sit neatly alongside the original features of the house.
