Switchboard Upgrade - Croyden

Mark originally asked us to complete an electrical safety inspection at his property in Croydon. During the inspection, we found that the existing switchboard was outdated and had no spare room available for any additional circuits.

Although the electrical system was still operating, the old switchboard was no longer a practical setup for the property. If Mark wanted to add air conditioning, an induction cooktop or another new electrical circuit in the future, there was simply nowhere for the additional protection to be installed.

We recommended replacing the existing switchboard with a larger, modern enclosure. The old equipment was disconnected and removed, and every sub-circuit was upgraded to an individual Type A RCBO. These devices provide both circuit protection and safety switch protection, helping isolate a fault without unnecessarily shutting down the rest of the property.

While we were there, Mark also asked us to look at an outdoor light that was not working correctly. We repaired the fault, tested the fitting and confirmed the outdoor lighting was operating properly again.

Once the work was complete, Mark had a safer and much neater switchboard with modern protection across every circuit. The new enclosure also provides room for future electrical additions, while the repaired outdoor light means the exterior of the property is properly lit again.
