Guy was renovating his semi-detached house in Croydon Park before putting it on the market. His aim was to present the property in really good condition, which meant taking care of both the visible finishes and the electrical work behind the scenes.

The existing switchboard was positioned near the front door, making the entrance look cluttered and taking away from the presentation of the front of the house. After looking over the property and discussing Guy’s renovation plans, we recommended a switchboard relocation to the side passage.

Moving the switchboard gave Guy the freedom to clean up the front entrance and create a much better first impression for potential buyers. The new position also kept the switchboard accessible while placing it in a more practical and less noticeable part of the property.

We disconnected the existing switchboard, extended and rerouted the required electrical cabling, and installed the new switchboard arrangement in the side passage. Once everything had been relocated, the circuits were reconnected, labelled and tested to confirm the electrical system was operating correctly.

With the switchboard moved away from the front door, Guy could finish the entrance properly and present the house without the old electrical equipment being a distraction. The relocation also left the property with a neater electrical setup that is better suited to the needs of a modern home and ready for its next owner.
